It’s also an apt description of moi, specifically my eye area when I’ve stayed up too late considering crucial problems like mint tea ice cream (how would it taste? — outstanding or nasty?), or when I’ve stayed up too late reading post-apocalyptic young adult “literature.”

Whenever I get up looking a bit worse for wear, I like to smear this shimmery bronze cream shadow on my lids with a finger and blend out the edges with a fluffy domed eyeshadow clean (I’m partial to the MAC 217).
The stuff is nothing short of a minor miracle! It brightens my lids, making me look better rested, radiant and nearly radiant (almost).
You can wear it with easy, sophisticated looks, like with some mascara and MAC Teddy eyeliner along your lash lines for a quick work look, or in sultry, seductive looks with false lashes and MAC Feline eyeliner along your lash and water lines.

Sometimes I’ll use it as a base and layer a gemstone shade on top — just on my lids and barely into the crease — for a look that’s one part shimmery, one part smokey and two parts pretty.
Neutralize meh — When it pertains to neutrals, Indianwood is like a phaser set to stun! It layers well with warm browns, beige shades, peaches and khakis. I wear it often as a base for lots of of my favorite MAC neutral Eyeshadows, like Soft Brown, Saddle and brown Script, to name a few.
Oh, if you can, try to swatch Indianwood on yourself before you bring it home, just in case, as it can pull very orange on some skin tones.

So, Enclave, by Ann Aguierre — highly, highly recommended.
Based on how it began, I thought, “Oh, this is a total Hunger games ripoff!” and there are some similarities — a sci-fi premise featuring a hard female lead character who’s thrust into a deadly situation — but I hope you give it a chance.
If you like the genre, I think you’ll love Enclave. Deuce, like Katniss, is resourceful. In the book, she’s been trained from a young age to secure the people in her group of survivors (her enclave). They’re required to live in tunnels underneath NYC, hiding from “the freaks,” flesh-eating (presumably) human mutants who terrorize the post-apocalyptic surface world.
I couldn’t put it down!
Pretty well written, too. better than normal for the genre, and it has some interesting things to say about group thinking in a crisis.
It’s classified as young adult, but I think it might be a bit too intense for tweens who haven’t had “the talk” yet. just as a caution. There are some very disturbing and frightening elements…
But it sure was a good read! and there’s a sequel coming out in a couple weeks.
